Patients
Only a NJ or PA state certified licensed practitioner can decide if you qualify for medical marijuana under NJ and PA law. To become a qualified patient:
-
Must be a PA or NJ resident.
-
Must have a bona fide relationship with your certifying practitioner.
-
Must have medical documentation stating qualifying condition.
Medical marijuana certification is possible for you in Pennsylvania if you have an eligible medical diagnosis and meet all the rules set by Pennsylvania Laws. To maintain your medical marijuana certification you must visit an approved doctor every 12 months.
Medical Marijuana Caregivers
When completing your application in the Medical Marijuana Registry , you may also designate up to two caregivers to assist you in obtaining medical marijuana. You may designate a spouse, a parent, or even a friend. Patients under the age of 18 are required to have a caregiver.
Caregivers will also have to register for the medical marijuana program and all caregivers must complete a background check before being approved. You can find more information on registering as a medical marijuana caregiver on the Department of Health website .
